   易武，位于西双版纳傣族自治州的勐腊县东北部，易武是傣语的译音，"易"意为"美女"，"武"意为"蛇"，"易武"全意为"美女蛇所在地"。"易武正山"就是易武山，过去称慢撒山（八十年代，慢撒山的北山定名曼洒山，南山为易武山）。1958年末易武、勐腊两县合作为易武县，县府设勐腊，1961年易武县更名为勐腊县，沿用迄今。据《普洱府志》记载："云南迤南之利，首在茶。而茶之产易武较多，茶味易好"。清道光十八年（1839年），道光皇帝御赐给贡茶的进士车顺来的"瑞贡天朝"匾额。历史上，云南茶区被澜沧江分成江内、江外两个茶区。易武等六大茶山为江内。所产的茶为"山茶"。勐海、南峰为江外，所产的茶为"坝茶"，"坝"为傣语，平坝丘陵盆地原野之意。江北五大茶山称"易武茶区"，加上攸乐就称六大茶山了。慢撒山位于易武茶区的东南部，易武镇又在易武山的最南边，因此慢撒山也叫易武山！所以清朝阮福在1825年写的《普洱茶记》中的六大茶山只有慢撒山没有易武。清末，云南茶商大多集中在易武开设毛茶厂，易武茶的产量是六大茶山之冠。而当时大家都认为江外勐海一带所产的"坝茶"，品质远不如易武等江内六大茶山的"山茶"优良。有易武茶商经常到江外采购南糯山一带所产的茶搀入易武茶中制造。而勐海一带的散茶每年也有三五千担运到思茅压圆茶和紧茶。这些茶做出来后制作者不易辩，饮用者也不能辨别出哪些是"山茶"哪些是"坝茶"。所以许多易武茶商都标榜他们的茶厂"开设在易武大街,精选易武正山阳春细嫩白尖。"而易武正山就是指易武山.阮福书中的慢撒山。易武茶区有五大茶山，称易武大茶山，易武山只是其中的一个。为了方便区别，将易武五茶山中的易武山称作"易武正山"，也叫"正山"。
